The Enterprise Modernization working group concerns itself primarily with software development of mainframe applications. This is not just about tooling used to develop those applications, rather also processes and best practices. Through live experiences, attendees offer their achievements, use cases, problems and successes to all software developers attending the 2 events per year.

The IBM labs have also always supported this group giving insights and updates into their development tools used by mainframe developers. As mainframe software development has embraced DevOps practices, IBM tooling and acceptance have kept pace and as such CI / CD pipelines, tooling, best practices used for mainframe software development, is well represented.

The group is one of the key contributors for RFEs to the different IBM labs and tools, and it gives attendees the chance to talk directly to IBM development, to give their views, use cases, or even problems with the tooling.
