After more than 40 years of mainframe history, IBM is committed to the mainframe and is investing heavily in its hardware and software development. To ensure that young people today and in the future can make use of the features of System z, IBM has teamed up with Universities across EMEA to educate students on the mainframe.
In active support of this initiative, and in acknowledgment of the immeasurable value that universities, as established institutes of learning, bring to GSE and its activities, we would like to offer universities a 3- year Membership at no cost, with full access to GSE’s services for all university staff and students. The membership fee for 2010, 2011 and 2012 would thereby be waived. This is a special offer which GSE is running for universities joining in 2010.
The membership of universities is recognised as fitting squarely into GSE’s policy of Give and Take – the participation of universities provides GSE and its Members with invaluable insight into the current themes of IT education, and GSE conversely gives universities a direct line of communication to those at the forefront of use and application of IBM architecture within our world’s constantly changing IT industry.
