GSE Projects
Business Issues Project
In 2003 GSE joined the worldwide IUGC project, “Business Issues”, which is aimed at removing the non-technical issues that hamper efficient and effective business between IBM and its customers. This project aims to improve customer satisfaction with IBM and awareness of the value of user groups within IBM and the user community.
IT Governance Project
IT is evolving from a support tool into a source of competitive advantage; the prerequisite for IT value creation is a stringent integration with business strategy. IT Governance is the overarching framework that provides guidelines and structures for defining and implementing an IT strategy that generates sustainable value for the business and a close link to the enterprise. GSE’s Region Austria/CE has founded the “IT Governance” Project, dealing with the role, strategic positioning and alignment of IT in the enterprise strategy.
The IT Governance project was launched in 2003 to deal with the role and positioning of IT in the enterprise strategy. The ‘On Demand’ scenario has led GSE to believe that the classical IT Governance model should be adapted. This project aims to help key decision makers realise the potential of the ‘On Demand’ opportunities and the resultant necessary adaptation of the classical IT Governance model, including familiarisation with the required changes, best practice examples and pitfalls. GSE is working with IBM to expand the IT Governance project to the ‘On Demand’ world. Current IT Governance Projects:

The ultimate goal of this project is to provide our members a background analysis, an estimation of development trends, identification of success factors and best practice samples. The results will be made available in a management summary and a ‘White Book’ as well as communicated on behalf of GSE at conferences and discussion forums.
